Black Swan Health has an experienced and highly skilled team of Accredited Exercise Physiologists and Clinical Psychologists who provide timely interventions for Workers Compensation clients, adopting a tailored approach based on each client’s assessed needs.
Psychology
Often a Workers Compensation injury is not just a medical problem but an example of a complicated biopsychosocial problem with many factors involved. The psychological factors can be reactions to the injury or contributors which exacerbate complications to the injury.
Our Clinical Psychologists:
- Provide support for clients experiencing depression, anxiety, panic attacks, chronic pain and post-traumatic stress disorder, etc as result of a workplace injury or motor vehicle accident.
- Help clients navigate their altered lives using psychological techniques such as relaxation training and meditation.
- Work collaboratively with the client and other relevant parties with the aim assisting the client to address and overcome any obstacles to their progress and recovery.
Psychology services are available at our Joondalup and Osborne Park locations as well as online (telehealth).
Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy supports Workers Compensation clients through all stages of recovery, from initial injury management to long-term conditioning and return to work. It is a core component of early and ongoing injury management. Physiotherapists assess, diagnose and treat work-related injuries to reduce pain, restore movement, and guide safe return to work and daily activities.
Our Physiotherapists:
- Assess and diagnose work-related musculoskeletal and neuromuscular injuries, including acute, complex, and persistent presentations.
- Deliver evidence-based treatment to manage pain, improve movement and restore function using hands-on therapy, exercise rehabilitation and education.
- Develop individualised rehabilitation plans aligned with the worker’s injury, job demands and recovery goals.
- Promote early and safe return to work, recognising its importance in preventing deconditioning and long-term disability.
- Work closely with the treating GP, other allied health professionals, insurer, employer and injury management team to coordinate care and return-to-work planning.
Physiotherapy services are available at Joondalup and Midland locations and via telehealth where appropriate.
