Finding this workshop was “God sent” for me and my household. Last year I was desperate to find the help and support we needed with my son’s hoarding issue, which he was denying. I was so happy and lucky to have the opportunity to come along to this workshop, at no cost to us and without having to go through a long referral, waiting list process.
The workshop has assisted my son to understand his hoarding problem, accept he had a problem and encouraged him to deal with it and take action.
As a result of being my son’s support person and going through the book myself, I too realised I had an acquiring problem and I’ve been able to identify my reasons for acquiring and have learned skills to manage it.
The workshops were at a good time of the day, once a week was achievable and 16 weeks is a great length of time (though I wasn’t able to do the last few weeks).
The facilitators have been fantastic, have lived experience, can relate and understand the hoarding (acquiring issues), very supportive, knowledgable and empowering.
I feel privileged having been part of this workshop and very thankful.
The workbook was appropriate, easy to follow and great having weekly homework – keeping us accountable.
Would highly recommend the workshops.
