Eating Disorder Services

Dedicated dietitians and a registered psychologist provide personalised support for individuals with diagnosed eating disorders and disordered eating. Offering tailored services using evidence-based methods and expert dietary advice.

We offer support for both diagnosed eating disorders and disordered eating behaviours.

People with eating disorders exhibit disordered eating, but not all disordered eaters can be diagnosed with an eating disorder. The difference occurs in the frequency and severity of behaviours and the distress they cause to the person.

Individuals may turn to disordered eating to cope with uncomfortable emotions and focus on weight and calorie intake to distract themselves from other issues in their lives.

People who engage in disordered eating behaviours often feel extreme anxiety around food. They might track their daily food intake down to the calorie, exercise obsessively at the gym, or avoid social situations in which food will be present.

Our approach

We use best practice approaches, based on the latest empirical evidence to support individuals (16yrs+) with the following:

  • Avoidant-Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID)
  • Anorexia Nervosa and atypical Anorexia Nervosa
  • Bulimia Nervosa and atypical Bulimia Nervosa
  • Binge-Eating Disorder and atypical Binge-Eating Disorder
  • Other Specified Feeding or Eating Disorders
  • Unspecified Feeding or Eating Disorders and
  • Other disordered eating behaviours such as purging disorder, night eating syndrome, body dysmorphia or orthorexia.

Clinical psychology support is provided alongside consultations and guidance from our highly skilled dietitians to support clients.

Our dietitians are highly qualified with knowledge, skills and experience in providing support to clients with eating disorders and have been screened and endorsed by the Butterfly Foundation for meeting the required skillset.
