Tristan Abba

Tristan Abba profile
Tristan completed his Master of Psychology and became a registered psychologist in 2015. He then achieved dual endorsement as both a Counselling Psychologist and Clinical Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia in 2025 – a milestone reflecting his commitment to excellence in psychological practice.
With over two decades of experience spanning psychology and community mental health services in Queensland and Western Australia, Tristan brings extensive expertise working alongside people aged 15+ as they navigate anxiety, mood challenges, ADHD, low self-worth, personality adaptations including Borderline Personality, and behavioural addictions involving substances, gaming, pornography, and other habits clients wish to change.
Tristan has developed a uniquely holistic and flexible approach that adapts fluidly within sessions to meet each client’s presenting responses. Drawing from CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Interpersonal Therapy, DBT skills, EMDR, and mindfulness practices, he integrates somatic strategies and movement-based interventions when appropriate, recognizing that healing involves the whole person, not just the mind.
After three years managing a clinic and leading psychology teams, Tristan has returned to clinical practice to focus on what he loves most – creating a grounded, present therapeutic space where conversations flow naturally without feeling like interrogations. His non-judgmental, collaborative approach helps clients feel genuinely heard while receiving practical guidance.
Tristan is a Board Approved Supervisor and enjoys surfing and staying active with his three children.
