Clinical Psychologist Registrar
Rachel was initially drawn to psychology by her motivation to help people, but as a registered Psychologist she has discovered the long-term benefits of educating and empowering her clients to help themselves.
Rachel applies a range of treatment methods like interpersonal therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) and other forms of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to obtain the best results for her clients. Rather than favouring a particular approach, Rachel adapts her style to suit the individual and their evolving needs, even within sessions where appropriate.
From her experience at Fremantle Hospital’s Pain Medicine Unit, Rachel has a deep understanding of the psychological effects and management approach to chronic pain. She often works closely with Black Swan Health’s other allied health staff (physiotherapists, dieticians, exercise physiologists, diabetes educators) to deliver a seamless service and better overall health outcomes for people living with chronic disease.
Rachel has experience with a range of clients, including children and adolescents who have experienced trauma and abuse. Her flexible and patient approach combined with her empathetic nature enables Rachel to build strong relationships with all her clients.
