Neil has been working as a qualified psychologist for over 45 years. He has extensive experience as a clinical psychologist in remote and rural communities, as well as major cities across Australia. Neil also has a background in research and teaching and dedicated many years to his work as a research fellow at Monash University and Murdoch University.
Neil specialises in post-traumatic stress disorder and related conditions such as depression and anxiety. He applies proven, research-based models including cognitive-based therapy (CBT) and eye movement desensitisation and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR) to achieve long-term mental health outcomes for his clients.
Throughout his career, Neil has undertaken specific training in the treatment of complex and persistent conditions including PTSD, OCD and social anxiety to name a few. Neil also works with couples, particularly in the management of anger and domestic violence.
By helping his clients arrive at a constructive world view that incorporates their past and present experiences, as well as providing the right techniques for ongoing management, Neil believes that his clients have the best chance of being mentally healthy.
