Help Me, Help You

About this Event
Is there a young person in your life who is struggling, but you don’t know how to help? Maybe you’re worried about saying the wrong thing, or perhaps they don’t want to seek help?
Join the headspace Youth Reference Group, headspace staff and the Stirling Youth Advocates to talk about how to start the conversation, and keep it going.
Why are we running this event?
We know that having support from friends and family can help someone who is going through a tough time. However, many people feel unsure how to start and continue a conversation about mental health.
‘Help Me, Help You’ aims to give family and friends the tips on how to talk to young people about wellbeing and an opportunity to ask questions.
Who is the event for?
Anyone aged 14 or older who wants to support a young person in their life, e.g. family and friends.
What can I expect?
‘Help me, Help you’ will be an interactive event, encouraging conversations between young people, family, friends, and headspace staff. The event will include:
- Practical tips for talking about mental health
- Hear young people’s perspectives on what they need from family and friends
- Panel discussion with young people and headspace mental health workers
- Question time
- Take home resources
- Dinner and light refreshments following the event, including vegan and halal options.
