Simone’s career as a Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist has spanned over three decades and two continents, having qualified as a physiotherapist at the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa in 1983.

Her interest in the importance of functional movement and mindful movement connect mind and body led her to co-develop a “Movement Therapy” program in 2001, which was a great success in South Africa.

Simone’s passion for educating and empowering patients living with chronic pain, chronic musculoskeletal and systemic conditions led her to join Black Swan Health’s multidisciplinary chronic pain team in 2014. In July 2015, she started up a well-attended and specialised exercise program, which is now known as the Black Swan Health Strength to Strength Exercise Program. Recently, Simone was a Clinical Supervisor for final year physiotherapy students at Curtin University.

Simone sees her role as the active listener, educator and facilitator for her patients’ recovery and ongoing wellness.

Glynnis Steed

Since qualifying as a physiotherapist in 1979, Glynnis has enjoyed a varied career in the hospital system, private practice and as the owner of her own private practice in Ballajura for nearly 10 years. Her practice specialised in musculoskeletal disorders with an emphasis on exercise treatment.

It was her community services-based work that prompted Glynnis’ interest in neurological rehabilitation; Parkinson’s Disease, strokes and falls prevention in particular. She has developed a strong specialisation in these conditions, incorporating exercise, education and other strategies to improve the individual’s quality of life.

Glynnis joined Black Swan Health in April 2016 and has been integral in our exercise program ‘Strength to Strength’. She has a passion for health and wellness through exercise which has been instilled in all of her clients. Glynnis is delighted to be part Black Swan Health’s Chronic Disease Team and sees the need for specialized community programs for neurological rehabilitation.
